Michael Tranberg, Pipe Trades

Michael was elected as President of the New Jersey State Association of Pipe Trades in March 2026. He is an experienced labor leader and union representative with more than three decades of service in the plumbing and pipefitting industry. He currently serves as Business Manager, Secretary-Treasurer of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 9, where he oversees the daily operations of the Local and represents more than 2,300 active members and retirees in collective bargaining and labor relations.

Previously, Michael served as Business Agent for Local 9 from July 2012 to June 2024, advocating on behalf of members regarding wages, benefits, working conditions, and workplace rights. His leadership career also includes roles as an Executive Board Member (2006–2012) and a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee Member (2002–2012), where he helped shape training standards and workforce development initiatives for future tradespeople.
