Which students should consider the trades?

Students interested in apprenticeship do not have to know the trade in advance; that is what apprenticeship teaches. However, there are some interests and qualities that will help a young man or woman succeed in apprenticeship:

  • Good at math and reading
  • Physically fit
  • Ambitious and willing to learn
  • Enjoy working with his/her hands
  • Follows directions
  • Team player
  • Looking for a lifetime career

If you have a student who possesses these qualities, then a career in construction may be a great fit!
